Aftercare for Lip Blushing
- Minimal Swelling and redness can be present for a couple hours post treatment.
- Please apply moisturizing balm frequently - You can never use too much! Keeping your lips moisturized and avoiding them drying out will help the healing process immensely!
- Before bed gently cleanse lips with provided cleanser + a cotton pad with a light dabbing/blotting motion. Lightly splash with cold water + pat dry with a cotton round or tissue then apply healing balm.
-Do not eat or drink (except water), for the first 3 hours following the procedure. Please try to use a straw while the lips are healing and avoid spicy foods for the first 24 hours.
- If prone to cold sores medication should be taking as prescribed by doctor (some over the counter medications may be available as well!)
-No laser treatments, chemical peels, dermabrasion, or any intense treatments that will cause faster skin cell rejuvenation and skin irritation, 14 days after your lip procedure
-Do not rub, pick at, or try to exfoliate shedding skin away. If the area is itchy, this is normal, please refrain from scratching. Picking at the shedding skin may pull the pigment with it and affect your retention, just let them fall off naturally.
- Think of your lips as an open wound - Never touch your lips with unwashed hands while healing and avoid kissing until healed after 14 days.
-No tanning or Sun exposure for 14 days after. Sun damage causes the skin to exfoliate quicker, which will affect your pigment retention.
-Aside from applying the healing balm and cleanser - Do not get your lips wet! This includes in the shower, sauna, sweating, swimming, and bath/hot tub for 10-14 days after the procedure.
-You can use lip makeup/gloss on your lips once they are done peeling from the healing.
